VILLEROY & BOCH
At nearly 270 years old, German/French housewares manufacturer Villeroy & Boch maintains a legacy in its distinctive products and established aesthetic. As the Graphic Design and Content Manager, it was my task to maintain that aesthetic while carefully integrating modern elements for today’s customer. I quickly learned what a precarious balance this was to maintain. One poor color choice, type treatment or image placement could send a project instantly off brand. I relished the challenge and tapped into my immense love and respect for Massimo Vignelli’s philosophy of elegance through simplicity. That philosophy enabled me to find a balance of old and new that, hopefully, achieved a sense of timeless appeal.
